Greyerz – As U.S. Election Looms the Real Price People Are Paying for Gold is Shocking

from King World News

Today the man who has become legendary for his predictions on QE and historic moves in currencies and metals said that as the US election looms, the real price people are paying for gold is shocking.

November 1 (King World News) – Egon von Greyerz: The US election is only days away. Both candidates have totally avoided the critical issue that will bring the US down in the next four years. The election campaign has been ugly but totally avoided the monumental problem facing the American people.

Clearly neither of them wanted to tell the voters that he will take over the running of a totally bankrupt country that is likely to collapse economically, financially and morally in the next four years.

Why Are Public Health ‘Experts’ Ignoring Proactive Ways to Neutralize Covid-19 While Promoting Failed Drugs?

Stock up on vitamins that are proven to help against the virus

by Daniel Horowitz
The Blaze

Why not educate people on how to fortify their bodies against their likely inevitable exposure to the SARS-CoV-2 virus rather than selling them the false promise of avoiding the virus without any knowledge of how deal with it? Why are the politicians peddling medical advice while the health care industry is selling us politics?

At present, there is no effective way to stop the spread of or somehow hide or run from the coronavirus. There is also no vaccine and there is unlikely to ever be a fully effective one, especially for the most vulnerable people. The best tool we currently have is to effectively treat the symptoms early on with cheap drugs and vitamins, especially when taken as a prophylaxis. Yet, especially as it relates to the anti-malaria drug Hydroxychloroquine, it remains the one thing our government and media will shun, and in some states, even ban rather than promote.

Jim Rogers: Great Depression 2.0?

A legendary investor foresees hard times ahead

by Adam Taggart
Chris Martenson’s Peak Prosperity

Jim Rogers is not only one of the most successful investors of our era, he’s also an avid scholar of history.

Seeing that the world is buried under an unprecedented mountain of debt that is requiring more and more central planner intervention to keep from imploding on itself, Jim says history is clear on what happens next.

A clearing of the debt either via massive default, or destruction of the currency it’s denominated in.

He looks into the future and sees a terrible reckoning ahead; one he predicts will be “the worst economic crisis of my lifetime” — and Jim is 78 years old.

Covid Measures Will Be Seen as ‘Monument of Collective Hysteria and Folly’ Says Ex-Judge

Jonathan Sumption, former British supreme court justice, slams ‘cavalier use of coercive powers’ and ‘loss of freedom’

by Owen Bowcott
The Guardian

The government has deliberately stoked fear over coronavirus while behaving like an authoritarian regime relying on police state tactics, according to the former supreme court justice Jonathan Sumption.

In his most forceful critique to date of the government’s handling of the pandemic, the outspoken lawyer condemned the way “the British state exercised coercive powers over its citizens on a scale never previously attempted”.

Delivering the Cambridge Freshfields annual law lecture, Lord Sumption said: “The ease with which people could be terrorised into surrendering basic freedoms which are fundamental to our existence … came as a shock to me in March 2020.”

Anticipating Mass Riots and Looting, Walmart Pulls Guns and Ammo from Sales Floor Before Election

by Brock Simmons
The Gateway Pundit

It looks as though Walmart’s crystal ball is showing a big, beautiful victory for President Trump next week.

Ahead of Tuesday’s election, Walmart officials have made the decision to remove all guns and ammo from shelves. But this isn’t a stunt to cave in to the anti gun lunatics, it’s to prevent rioting looters from making off with the goods. Guns and ammo are still available for purchase, they will just be kept in the back and, hopefully, in a locked and fortified area.

NPR Reports:

Walmart pulled guns and ammunition from its store shelves as a precautionary measure, following the unrest in Philadelphia this week after police fatally shot a Black man more than a dozen times on Monday.

“Capitalism” is No Longer Attractive to Capitalists

by Charles Hugh Smith
Of Two Minds

This “capitalism” is only attractive to parasites, predators, kleptocrats, legalized looters, embezzlers, fraudsters and all those insiders whose palms get greased along the way.

Back of the envelope definition of classical capitalism:

1. Transparency in markets, including pricing, information on quality and reliability of products, sellers and buyers, and of rules of conduct and rights governing all participants;

2. Risk is tightly bound to reward, i.e. everyone has skin in the game, those who lose are forced to absorb the entire loss.

3. Open competition, i.e. no monopolies or cartels limiting supply or setting prices;

4. Free flow of capital and labor;

5. Everyone pays the same rates of taxes, duties and fees on every transaction.

FBI Investigates Biden Family, Journalism Dead, Economy Up & Down

Greg Hunter’s Weekly News Wrap-Up for October 30th, 2020

by Greg Hunter
USA Watchdog

More bad news for the Biden crime family hit this week when it was discovered there is an active FBI criminal investigation into “Hunter Biden and associates” in what is now an obvious influence peddling scheme that has been going on for many years. Emails on Hunter Biden’s laptop and whistleblowers confirm that Joe Biden is taking part in this action. The bigger story is the mainstream media (MSM) is either ignoring it or passing it off as, wait for it, more Russian disinformation. Of course, this is a huge lie, and all the information that has been released so far has been totally confirmed by multiple U.S. government sources.

Going Full Orwell

by James Howard Kunstler
Kunstler.com

Oscar Wilde observed that “life imitates art,” and there they were: the three grand poohbahs of social media, stone-facing the Senate Homeland Security Committee on their zoom screens like a trio of James Bond villains — Jack “Twitter” Dorsey, complete with sinister nose-ring and necromancer’s beard, Mark “Facebook” Zuckerberg, pasty and blank as a knish, and Sundar “Google” Pichai the Merciless. Only missing were the Persian cats in their laps.

They were on-board to answer how come their monstrous information engines were censoring the news so as to possibly influence a national election, and they offered the confabulated fantasy that their cancellation of the Biden Family influence-peddling story in The New York Post, and disabling the accounts of sundry un-Woketarian journalists, was actually a policy of “transparency.” With the election only days away, the subtext of their demeanor was a clear “Fuck you, you can’t do anything about it” to the American people.

Texas Early Voting Just Surpassed All Votes Cast in 2016; Hawaii Breaks 2008 Record

from Zero Hedge

Early voting in Texas and Hawaii have broken records – with Texas having surpassed the total number of ballots cast in the 2016 election, and Hawaii breaking their previous turnout record in 2008, when Barack Obama was elected president.

In Texas, at least 9,009,850 votes have been cast, surpassing the state’s record of 8,969,226 cast in 2016. It is not known which party will benefit most from the surge.

Breaking: Texas just surpassed its 2016 total votes cast w/ one day of early voting & Election Day left to go.

The state is reporting 9,009,850 votes already cast, vs. the all-time record of 8,969,226 in 2016. This is massive.

— Dave Wasserman (@Redistrict) October 30, 2020

According to Bloomberg, “Nowhere has seen a more dramatic display of enthusiasm than Harris County, home to Houston, Texas’s biggest city and the embodiment of its rapid growth and diversifying suburbs. The county’s voting, driven in part by innovations by freshly appointed County Clerk Chris Hollins, so far compose more than 15% of all those cast in the sprawling state.”

Despite Its Five Felony Counts, the Federal Reserve Has Entrusted $2 Trillion in Bonds to JPMorgan Chase

by Pam Martens and Russ Martens
Wall Street on Parade

Imagine that your neighbor across the street had been criminally charged with five felony counts for financial crimes in the past six years and admitted to committing each and every crime to the U.S. Department of Justice. Would you put one-third of all of your money in a safe, give that neighbor the combination, and ask him to hold the safe in his house for you? You would probably be suited up for a straight jacket if you did something like that.

That’s effectively what the Federal Reserve, the central bank of the United States, has done when it comes to JPMorgan Chase. As of this past Wednesday, the Fed has a $7 trillion balance sheet and $2 trillion of its agency Mortgage-Backed Securities are sitting at JPMorgan Chase, the bank that the Department of Justice has charged with five criminal felony counts since 2014 – all of which it admitted to.

Since JPMorgan Chase first inked a contract with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York on December 31, 2008, it has been the sole custodian of all of the agency Mortgage-Backed Securities (MBS) that the Fed had bought in its long-running Quantitative-Easing programs.

I’m in Awe of How Fast Rents Plunge in San Francisco, New York, Boston, Los Angeles, Other Expensive Cities. Rents Decline Even in Houston & Dallas. National Average Turns Negative.

by Wolf Richter
Wolf Street

Work-from-anywhere, unemployment crisis, oil bust, people chasing a cheaper less crowded place to live, the land rush to buy homes.

There was even a story on NPR: People from big, densely populated, expensive cities showing up in small towns in beautiful rural areas for a few weeks to get away and then getting stuck, now that they can work remotely, and buying homes and sending their kids to local schools. These are just stories, and there are now millions of them. But it’s showing up in asking rents in those big expensive markets, where vacancies are rising and landlords have to compete with each other to fill their units, and tenants are moving within the city in order to get a nicer place for less money – the free upgrade they’ve been waiting for, after years of costly downgrades.

Win or Lose, Dems Have Big Plans for America

by William L. Gensert
American Thinker

Only a victory large enough to preclude the theft of the presidency by the Democrats and their minions in the media can forestall their plans for America’s future.

The rioting, physical violence, and destruction of property estimated in the billions of dollars experienced by Americans since the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis on Memorial Day was merely practice for the left’s coming exercise of power whether Biden wins or loses.

“It cannot happen here” has been the mantra of those blessed by God with the grace of living in the land of the free and the home of the brave. Yet, aphoristically, “past is prologue” and history is replete with the ruins of civilizations whose citizens believed the same.

Why President Trump Should Have a Huge Lead on the Night of the Election

by Michael Snyder
The Economic Collapse Blog

Does that headline surprise you? In this article, I am not predicting the eventual outcome of the presidential election. Rather, I am going to discuss what is likely to happen based on which votes will be counted first. Normally, Americans gather around their televisions on the evening of the election to watch the votes come in and the mainstream media declares a winner by the end of the night. But it won’t be that way this time around. More than 52 million Americans have already voted by mail in this election, and that number will keep rising with each passing day. It is going to take extra time to count all of those mail-in ballots, and that is going to cause significant delays in getting final election results from many states.

According to a survey conducted by Pew Research, Trump supporters are more than twice as likely to vote in person on Election Day than Biden supporters are, and Biden supporters are more than twice as likely to vote by mail as Trump supporters are…

California Threatens to Arrest 12 Year Old for Missing Three Zoom Classes

by Simon Black
Sovereign Man

Are you ready for this week’s absurdity? Here’s our Friday roll-up of the most ridiculous stories from around the world that are threats to your liberty, risks to your prosperity… and on occasion, inspiring poetic justice.

School Threatens to Arrest 12 Year Old Over Three Missed Zoom Classes

A California school sent a letter threatening to arrest and prosecute a 12 year old boy who missed 90 minutes of online virtual classes.

The letter says the middle-schooler is considered truant if he misses more than a half hour of any given class.

When the boy’s father complained about the threat to his son (who happens to be an excellent student and makes straight A’s), the school principal said his hands were tied.

The Presidential Campaign Mercifully Heads into the Homestretch

Plus: Biden should stop bragging about the Violence Against Women Act, Trump should stop bragging about tariffs, and more…

by Eric Boehm
Reason.com

From the Allegheny Plateau to the Florida coast to the wide-open spaces of the Upper Midwest, President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden will spend the last weekend of the 2020 presidential campaign crisscrossing the country in search of the last remaining undecided voters.

Trump, who trails in the (meaningless) national polls but seems to have a narrow path to victory in the Electoral College, plans to hold 11 rallies between now and Election Day, according to NBC News. He’ll spend Friday at rallies in Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota, then will hold a series of three events in different parts of Pennsylvania on Saturday. Stops in North Carolina and Florida on the final days of the campaign seem likely, though details remain sketchy for now.

Leaked Document: Leftists Fear Trump May Win Minnesota, Plot Post-Election ‘Mass Mobilization’

by Joshua Caplan
Breitbart.com

A leaked confidential document obtained by Breitbart News reveals that a coalition of left-wing groups in Minnesota, fearing a possible Trump win, is preparing for post-election mass unrest while planning to execute wide scale “strategic disruption.”

Led by TakeAction Minnesota, described as a “hub for Minnesota’s progressive movement,” the groups warn of a need for mass mobilization in a recently leaked highly confidential document circulating among the group’s leadership and intended as a prep guide for the coming weeks.

Another Pointless Antitrust Campaign by Federal Regulators

by Dave Albin
Mises.org

Thank goodness the US Justice Department has again saved food consumers from…well, it’s kind of hard to say. This time, the target is chicken producers, but I wrote about similar events several years ago with the dairy industry.

The latest developments involve a $110 million settlement and indictments of executives, such as chicken producer Pilgrim’s Pride on allegations of price fixing, a violation of antitrust laws. The usual impassioned arguments related to saving the hapless consumer are trotted out, but as with the dairy case, even minimal examination of the details behind the scenes leaves little or nothing to be desired with the whole process.

Let’s start with price fixing—the idea that several firms in the same industry worked together to control supply of a product for their mutual benefit.
