Stocks and Precious Metals Charts – The Troubled Seas of Thought

from Jesse’s Café Américain

[…] Stocks had a grand pop and flop today, as the initial exuberance over a possible vaccine for coronavirus and the apparent win by Biden took a large exogenous weight off equities.

And so it was risk on to near euphoric levels.

And then it was not.

Gold and silver got hammered today.

Looks like the traditional Non-Farm Payrolls report shenanigans were a trading day late.

I was pretty much in cash coming into today. I did add back a trading position in gold and a couple of miners, which were just brutalized.

Not Selling Any Precious Metals Today, Energy Leads the Way, Plus Another Golden Opportunity

from King World News

On the heels of gold and silver seeing a huge down day, one of the greats in the business said he was not selling any precious metals today. Plus energy leads the way and another golden opportunity.

Energy Leads The Way

November 9 (King World News) – Liz Ann Sonders, Chief Investment Strategist at Charles Schwab: Stocks closed off highs but still massive surge, led by Energy’s stunning +14.2%; Tech lagged with NASDAQ -1.5%…traditional cyclicals fared well but not enough to shift leadership YTD or since 2/19 (same goes for value relative to growth)…SC’s gain today nearly all from value side…

‘A Good Kid’: Family Mourns Son, 32, Who Died of Covid-19

Jevin Potvin may be Ottawa’s youngest pandemic victim so far

[Ed. Note: We’re past the point of ‘total farce’ here… Quote: “They did a brain scan and they discovered he had a bleed on his brain from the medication, because I guess he was on heavy blood thinners” … So, the only diagnosis that makes sense here is clearly to say that he, “died of covid-19.” It’s not like he might of died from a brain bleed due to the medication he was put on. No, it’s covid-19, clearly.]

Jevin Potvin died just as his father thought he might finally be turning a corner.

For more than half his life, the 32-year-old had battled addictions to opioids and other drugs. He’d been using a wheelchair for roughly the past five years after a blood infection from a needle damaged his spine.

Even so, right up until the end, his father, Dan Potvin, remained guardedly optimistic. His son had been clean for months, and while he was in hospital for his myriad health problems, he was set to be discharged in late April to the family’s farm in rural south Ottawa.

Before that could happen, Jevin came down with a fever. The doctors said it was COVID-19. Given his already compromised immune system, he was placed in isolation.

The Coming Purge if Trump Loses

by Brian C. Joondeph
American Thinker

The 2020 presidential election is the stuff of banana republics as the ruling class loathes the boss and is trying to steal the election in broad daylight. Joe Biden underperformed Hillary Clinton in every state except the four where hundreds of thousands of ballots are miraculously appearing for only Biden. Something is rotten in Denmark, as the Bard put it.

The DNC media gleefully called the election for Joe Biden, four days after Election Day, yet no votes have been certified and the Electoral College vote still over a month away.

What if the fraud succeeds and President Trump pushed out of the White House? Is it over, with Trump going back to private life as a real estate developer and television star? Will the new Democrat regime just “move on,” to borrow a phrase that Democrats used after Bill Clinton’s impeachment? Fat chance.

America Wants Legal Marijuana More Than Ever Before. Catch Up, Joe Biden.

Gallup shows 68 percent supporting legalization.

by Scott Shackford
Reason.com

The extremely pro-marijuana results in last week’s ballot measures were not an anomaly—and to judge from current poll numbers, they shouldn’t be a surprise.

A Gallup poll released this morning shows that marijuana legalization is more popular than it has ever been, with 68 percent of all Americans supporting it.

[…] Support for legalization crossed the 50 percent threshold in 2012 and hasn’t been back since. These numbers mean that marijuana legalization polls as well as same-sex marriage: About two-thirds of the country support each.

Demographically, majority support of legalization runs across all age groups, even those over 65. Opposition is still slightly greater than support among Republicans and among those who say they attend church weekly—but even among those groups, the anti-legalization position is a mere 52 percent. (Republicans actually crossed the 50 percent line in 2018, but they just dipped back down.)

“It Defies Logic”: Scientist Finds Telltale Signs of Election Fraud After Analyzing Mail-In Ballot Data

from Zero Hedge

A most interesting thread popped up on Twitter Sunday from a data scientist who wishes to remain anonymous, regarding mail-in ballot data which strongly suggests fraud occurred in the wee hours of election night, when several swing states inexplicably stopped reporting vote counts while President Trump maintained a healthy lead over Joe Biden.

Using time series data ‘scraped’ from the New York Times website, the data – comparing several states (swing and non-swing) – clearly illustrates what fraud does and does not look like, and how several anomalies in swing states left ‘fingerprints of fraud’ as Biden pulled ahead of President Trump.

As Nation Awaits Transition of Power, Fauci Issues Warning to His Fellow Scientists

In a conversation with the American Medical Association, the director of National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases spoke about politics, science and vaccines

[Ed. Note: Translation: Disagreeing with me will be treated as acting politically.]

by Quentin Fottrell
Market Watch

Dr. Anthony Fauci has a word for his industry colleagues.

In a conversation with the American Medical Association, Fauci, director of National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said physicians need to be careful about their public statements. “Stay completely apolitical,” he said. “Don’t get involved in any of the political aspects, and just focus on what your job is as a scientist and a physician. You do that, you’ll be fine.”

Speaking to AMA Executive Vice President and CEO James Madara, Fauci said there have been significant improvements in treatment regarding when it’s best to put people on ventilators and how much oxygen to administer during intubation. “We just get better at treating the disease. We know what works, what doesn’t work,” he said.

Without White House on the Ballot, Democrats Have an Uphill Climb in Georgia Senate Runoffs

by Ashe Schow
Daily Wire

Georgia is heading for a recount in the presidential election since there are still some absentee, provisional, and overseas military ballots left to count (98% of votes in the state have been counted so far) and Joe Biden holds a small 11,000 vote lead over President Donald Trump.

Beyond the presidential election, both senate elections in the Peach State have resulted in runoffs, meaning no candidate obtained 50% of the vote. The runoff elections will take place on January 5, with early in-person voting beginning on December 14. By the actual election date in January, Trump’s litigation should have concluded and Americans should (hopefully) know who their president will be come January 20, 2021. Even with legal challenges and some uncertainty (the media has called the election for Biden even though Trump hasn’t exhausted his legal options), the White House won’t be on the ticket, which could change the races drastically.

Mexican President: Media ‘Censoring’ Trump’s Concerns Over Election Integrity

by Ildefonso Ortiz and Brandon Darby
Breitbart.com

Mexico’s president expressed surprise at how U.S. media are working to “censor” President Donald Trump amid contested election results.

During his daily news conference, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador (AMLO) doubled down on his recent decision to hold off on congratulating any candidate until all legal issues were resolved. AMLO said Trump was being silenced by media when he has tried to call out irregularities.

— Rodrigo Pacheco (@Rodpac) November 9, 2020

“In the country of freedoms, of the free press, all of a sudden they censor the president,” Lopez Obrador said. “It is not anything–this had not been seen before. The media censors. I am talking about the U.S., because in Mexico we are used to that.”

For Better Health and a Stronger Economy, Don’t Lock Down Again

by Benjamin Powell
The American Institute for Economic Research

European countries are imposing harsh lockdowns again as a second wave of COVID-19 spreads throughout Europe. It was a mistake last spring, when most U.S. states followed Europe’s lead in imposing lockdowns during the first wave, and it would be an even bigger mistake to copy the failed lockdowns again today.

I was stunned when Italy imposed regional lockdowns in late February and a national lockdown on March 9. In short order, most other European countries did the same. Then, influenced by the sensational predictions from Neil Ferguson’s team at Imperial College London that more than 500,000 Britons and 2.2 million Americans might die from the virus, the United Kingdom and most of the United States followed suit.

Election 2020: Choking on the Political Red and Blue Pills

by Wendy McElroy
Mises.org

Presidential election 2020 is the same as every other, except in the ways it isn’t. Allow me to expand on this.

What is the same? The purpose of all elections is to allow a band of people called the state to legitimize their claim of control over everyone and everything within a given jurisdiction. In his book The Rise and Fall of Society, the Old Right libertarian Frank Chodorov defines the state as “a number of people who, having somehow got hold of it,” use “the machinery of coercion to the end that they might pursue their version of happiness without respect to the discipline of the market place” (italics added).

The two somehows of getting and holding political power are to use institutionalized violence or to convince people to respect state authority. Statists usually pursue some combination of both. Violence is rarely preferred, however, because it can backlash into a resistance that threatens state power.

Ibram Kendi Says Term ‘Legal Vote’ is Racist

by Penka Arsova
LaCorte News

Author and anti-racism activist Ibram X. Kendi last week listed several terms he argued are racist, including “legal votes” and “personal responsibility.”

The story: Kendi, a professor at Boston University, tweeted Saturday that the term “legal vote” is “functionally racist,” bumping it in the same category with “illegal alien,” “race neutral,” “welfare queen,” “super predator,” and “handouts.” He also suggested the term “personal responsibility” is similarly racist.

“There are so many more terms like this,” he wrote, asking his followers to provide some examples themselves.

As MSM Panics the Public Over Covid-19 Cases, Grocers Reinstate Purchase Limits

by Mac Slavo
SHTF Plan

The mainstream media is continuing to be a good puppet of the ruling class by panicking the population into a frenzied state of fear. As we have already seen, when people panic, they hoard toilet paper, and that’s happening again, causing grocers to reinstate purchase limits.

In a statement to USA Today, Kroger said they have “proactively and temporarily set purchase limits to two per customer” on items including toilet paper, paper towels, disinfecting wipes and hand soap. The limits went into effect about a week ago, the grocer chain said. These limits apply to both in store and online purchases on these items.

H-E-B, which manages more than 400 stores mostly in Texas, imposed limits as of Oct. 31 on toilet paper and paper towels to stores in Border, Central Texas, Gulf Coast and San Antonio regions, according to a link on its website tracking purchase limits.

Cuomo Vows to Block Covid-19 Vaccine Unless it Comes from Biden Administration

“The Trump administration is rolling out the vaccination plan and I believe it’s flawed,” he says

by Jamie White
Info Wars

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (D) rejected accepting the COVID-19 vaccine developed during the Trump administration’s Operation Warp Speed, saying it’s “flawed” and must be stopped “before it does damage.”

“The Trump administration is rolling out the vaccination plan and I believe it’s flawed,” Cuomo told ABC anchor George Stephanopoulos on Monday. “I believe that it learns nothing from the past.”

[…] “You have two months and we can’t let this vaccination plan go forward the way the Trump administration is designing it because Biden can’t undo it and two months later will be in the midst of it,” Cuomo continued.

Cuomo then claimed that only Joe Biden could deliver a safe vaccine to the American people.

New Election Math: It’s Not 270, It’s 26-24

by Jay Valentine
American Thinker

James Madison’s, Alexander Hamilton’s, and certainly Ben Franklin’s ghosts are laughing as their genius in founding the Electoral College is likely to be vindicated.

We have a generation born to an age where civics is no longer taught, millions of Americans do not know the difference between a representative and a senator and too many think the Electoral College is a land grant school west of Omaha.

They are about to get that civics lesson leftists baked out of curricula.

Trump’s legacy is the opening of the political system to millions who never voted before, minorities who for the first time broke Republican, and more women Republican representatives in Congress.

The Deplorables may not have understood raw political power, Leftist manipulation via vote fraud conveniently covered by the media and Big Tech. But they appear to get it now.
