Rogers, who is Chairman at Rogers Holdings and Beeland Interests in Singapore, told the Reuters Global Markets Forum he expected the next decade to be the most difficult for markets in his lifetime because of the levels of global debt.
“We had a horrible time in 2008 because of too much debt, and since 2008, the debt everywhere has skyrocketed. We can’t even count how much the debt is up,” Rogers said at the Reuters Global Investment Outlook Summit 2020.

A vaccine for Covid-19 is on the way, so gold investors should probably pack it in, right? After all, a valid and distributable vaccine will likely create euphoria, and push the stock market up and gold down. The economy will recover, maybe even roar, and with it fear of the pandemic will disappear and leave little need to own gold and silver.
At least that’s the consensus view among many mainstream outlets. We know this because the kneejerk reaction to Pfizer’s vaccine announcement on November 9 caused the Dow to soar 3% and gold to fall 4%, with silver crashing 6.2%.
Last week Pfizer and Moderna reported their vaccines are now roughly 95% effective, with Pfizer and BioNTech announcing plans today to file for authorization for emergency use, which would allow them to have their vaccine used in the US starting next month. The former FDA commissioner even claimed the pandemic can “effectively end” with a wide distribution of a vaccine at this level of efficacy.

On Monday, former Vice President Joe Biden announced he had selected Neera Tanden, the president of The Center for American Progress and a close friend of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, as his choice to head the White House Office of Management and Budget, eliciting criticism from both sides of the political aisle.
Sen. John Cornyn, (R-TX) said Tanden “stands zero chance of being confirmed.”
USA Today noted that Tanden has issued 87,000 tweets since joining Twitter in March 2010. Garrett Ventry, who served as a communications aide to the committee chaired by Sen. Charles Grassley,(R-IA), noted, “Watching @neeratanden delete all her negative tweets about Republican Senators is hilarious. Her nomination is already a funeral.”

Could it be possible that the phrase “dark winter” has some sort of deeper meaning that most of us are not meant to understand? We have heard that phrase over and over again in recent weeks, and usually it has been used in discussions regarding the current state of the COVID-19 pandemic. But it also turns out that “Dark Winter” was also a code name for a high level simulation that was conducted back in 2001. That simulation envisioned a scenario in which a widespread smallpox attack was unleashed inside the United States. As you will see below, the simulation was “designed to spiral out of control”, and the hypothetical consequences were absolutely disastrous.
The reason why this is a concern is because so many of these “simulations” and “exercises” end up mirroring real life events that happen at a later date.

According to new data, the U.S. currently ranks first in total COVID-19 cases, new cases per day and deaths. Genevieve Briand, assistant program director of the Applied Economics master’s degree program at Hopkins, critically analyzed the effect of COVID-19 on U.S. deaths using data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in her webinar titled “COVID-19 Deaths: A Look at U.S. Data.”
From mid-March to mid-September, U.S. total deaths have reached 1.7 million, of which 200,000, or 12% of total deaths, are COVID-19-related. Instead of looking directly at COVID-19 deaths, Briand focused on total deaths per age group and per cause of death in the U.S. and used this information to shed light on the effects of COVID-19.
She explained that the significance of COVID-19 on U.S. deaths can be fully understood only through comparison to the number of total deaths in the United States.

Disenfranchising the Nonexistent and Illegal Voters

A few days ago, I forwarded a note about the proposed joint resolutions of the Pennsylvania legislators to refuse to certify the results of a patently fraudulent election. I got a response which certainly anticipates the Democrats’ talking points: “Disenfranchising voters is not what conservatives do.”
Of course not. It’s what Democrats do by diluting their votes time and again with illegal and nonexistent voters. Refusing to recognize fraud by removing such votes from the tally at certification time is what conservatives should do. To fail to do so is to ensure that we will never have free, honest elections again and legal voters voting in accord with relevant laws will be disenfranchised while illegal and nonexistent voters will win. Scott Adams observes correctly that when people lose confidence in the regularity of elections, the orderly respect for government and the willingness to comply with it will end. To fail to do so, as well, means the legislatures in these states will have gelded themselves by refusing to enforce their prerogatives under the law. In the meantime, while state legislatures ponder their responsibilities, a large number of election challenges are being litigated around the country. Here are the most significant ones.

In a blistering opinion by a Donald Trump appointee, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit on Friday rejected the president’s challenge to Pennsylvania’s election results, saying his campaign had failed even to allege a cognizable constitutional claim. “Free, fair elections are the lifeblood of our democracy,” writes Stephanos Bibas, whom Trump picked for the appeals court in 2017. “Charges of unfairness are serious. But calling an election unfair does not make it so. Charges require specific allegations and then proof. We have neither here.”
Appealing another scathing decision by U.S. District Judge Matthew Brann, the Trump campaign asked the 3rd Circuit to override Brann’s refusal to allow a second amended complaint. The appeals court says Brann did not abuse his discretion when he dismissed the case with prejudice, given the looming certification of Pennsylvania’s vote (which happened last Tuesday), the campaign’s “delays and repetitive litigation,” and the likelihood that the proposed complaint would be “futile.”

President Trump doubled down on attacking Twitter’s censorship of conservatives and called for Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act to be repealed due to “national security” concerns.
“Twitter is sending out totally false ‘Trends’ that have absolutely nothing to do with what is really trending in the world” Trump tweeted Friday. “They make it up, and only negative ‘stuff’. Same thing will happen to Twitter as is happening to @FoxNews daytime. Also, big Conservative discrimination!”
