Our Apocalyptic “New Normal”: Most Global Conflict Since WWII, Most Billion Dollar Disasters Ever, and Most Hungry People in History

by Michael Snyder
End of the American Dream

Our world is witnessing apocalyptic events so frequently that many of us are starting to become numb to it all. Major wars are raging all over the globe, children in Africa are literally dropping dead from starvation as hunger spreads like wildfire, and “billion dollar disasters” are hitting us more frequently than we have ever seen before. But as long as these tragedies are not affecting us directly, most people don’t really care too much. As the level of worldwide suffering rises, it seems as though hearts are getting colder at the same time. The traumatic events of the past several years have left deep scars, and there are many that prefer to ignore the apocalyptic things that are happening in the world because it is just too much for them to handle emotionally.

According to a brand new study, the number of armed conflicts in 2023 was the most that we have seen in a single year since the end of World War II…

It’s Trump vs WWIII – Martin Armstrong

by Greg Hunter
USA Watchdog

Legendary financial and geopolitical cycle analyst Martin Armstrong says we are going to have a wild close to 2024. Let’s start with Biden’s new job approval rating from Martin Armstrong’s “Socrates” program, which is now only 6% to 7%. Armstrong explains, “It’s the old story of draining the swamp, but now, the swamp is an ocean. This is completely crazy. The cases against Trump show you how desperate they are here. The reason they want Biden, and they even blocked RFK Jr. from getting on the Democrat ticket, the reason they want him is he is just a sock puppet. He’s not really in charge. He’s not making any decisions.”

Are the Deep State globalist Democrats panicking over the 6% to 7% Biden approval rating? Top people on both sides know this is an accurate number. With about four months to go before the 2024 Election, are they now panicking over these dismal approval numbers? Armstrong says, “Oh, yes, they are panicking. I have been in politics for more than 40 years. I know how it works. All of a sudden, you see in the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal, oh, Biden is slipping behind closed doors. That would not make the press unless they wanted it to. They are floating a ballon to see how it goes. All of a sudden, they want Biden to do a debate. Before, no debates. Why? Because they know he’s going to look bad. . . . At the Democrat Convention, they will draft someone else, and that is most likely going to be Hillary.”

If You Thought the $2 Billion Obamacare Website Was Bad…

by James Hickman
Schiff Sovereign

It was March 23, 2010, when Barack Obama signed his infamous “Affordable Care Act” into law.

And in theory it was a nice idea. Healthcare in the US was incredibly expensive, and he wanted to bring costs down. But the execution was abysmal.

Since 2010, the number of uninsured Americans is still far, far beyond their most conservative projections. Medical costs in the Land of the Free have soared to record highs, vastly outpacing both inflation and wage growth.

According to the US Labor Department’s Consumer Expenditures data, for example, Americans spent 6.6% of their household budgets on healthcare back in 2010 before Obamacare was enacted.

Massie Slams AIPAC, Censorship, Surveillance, Debt Crisis, and Insane Government Regulations: New Tucker

from Zero Hedge

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) sat down with Tucker Carlson for a little over two hours, where the two discussed a variety of topics, including the grip that lobbies such as AIPAC has have over legislative agendas, freedom of speech, government surveillance, and the influence of the media when it comes to the political polarization of American politics.

[…] Massie began by opining on the US National Debt, which currently stands at just under $35 trillion.

You know, it’s hard to comprehend 14 digits of debt. But when you see the last five digits are moving so fast, you can’t, you know, perceive them with your eyes, then you kind of understand. Whoa, we are problem here. I mean, it’s a $100,000 a second, roughly. So imagine we had this catapult and we were launching, cyber trucks once a second into the ocean. That’s how much debt we’re taking on, continuously.

Why is Keynesian Economics Collapsing?

by Martin Armstrong
Armstrong Economics

John Maynard Keynes in his 1936 book, ‘The General Theory of Employment, Interest and Money,” argued aggregate demand was too volatile to be stable and would lead to inflation or recessions. His theory honed in on spending as a means of price control. Low aggregate demand, Keynes argues, would lead to high unemployment and stagflation. Government could intervene through fiscal policies to increase aggregate demand, as an example, increased government spending could tame inflation. Interest rates, according to Keynes, could also be modified to encourage spending and stimulate demand. So why are these theories failing miserably today?

To begin, the United States had a balanced budget when Keynes presented his theory. The government is now the biggest borrower, acting in its own self interest under Adam Smith’s theory of the invisible hand that Keynes spent his career attempting to deny. According to Keynes, “there is no self-correcting mechanism in a free market economy that automatically restores full employment.” He believed that the government could change the business cycle but arguably regretted this notion on his deathbed.

The Desire to Be “Your Own Boss” in America

by Wolf Richter
Wolf Street

“You can’t always get what you want… but if you try sometimes, well, you might find, you get what you need…”: The Rolling Stones

“Everything else being equal, would you rather – be your own boss or work as an employee for someone else?”

This question that Gallup asked is dear to my heart. I’ve been my own boss at the WOLF STREET media mogul empire since 2011. It has been the most enjoyable job I’ve ever had. Flexible hours? I’ve never worked as many hours as I have been in recent years, but it doesn’t seem like work because I have a blast. Long vacations? This is a 24/7 business, I’m the only underling, and I have the worst slave-driver boss in the universe who makes me go on vacation with a laptop and work. It has been financially rewarding, but not right away.

The Achilles Heel of the Fiat Money System

by Thorsten Polleit
Mises.org

The fiat money system will not disappear just like that. Any expectations or hopes to that end should be tempered. Yes, the fiat money system could collapse; yet there is a significant likelihood it will persist longer than most people might think. This prolonged existence may come at a cost: a fascist state encroachment on the freedoms of citizens and entrepreneurs would be more profound than most people realize.

Much ink has been spilt about the impending collapse of the international fiat money system. It is a debate that naturally gains momentum in times of crisis—as witnessed in the aftermath of the 2008/9 global financial market debacle or the politically dictated global lockdown crash of 2020/21.

At the same time, however, it is entirely justified to harbor significant concerns regarding the fiat money system. After all, it is plagued by blatant economic and ethical defects.

The Menace of Political Show Trials

by Llewellyn H. Rockwell, Jr.
LewRockwell.com

In recent days, we have had brought home to us what “show trials” are like. They are not confined to Soviet Russia and it satellite countries during the Cold War but are a very present reality to us in America today. Political opponents of Donald Trump charged him with felonies for acts that were entirely legal. The judge in the case was a political opponent of Trump and worked artfully to prevent the trial jury from hearing testimony that would have exposed the imposture.

In view of what has happened, I think it would be interesting to discuss some earlier show trials, the Nuremberg trials held after World War II, as discussed in the important book by Danilo Zolo, Victor’s Justice, (Verso, 2009)

Should war crimes, i.e., violations of rights during a war, be treated as criminal offenses? Proponents of this view often suggest that, just as courts punish individuals within a nation who commit crimes, so should international courts put on trial and punish political leaders and soldiers who violate rights.

Payrolls is Now ‘Disability Friday’ and Gold & Silver Correct

As the vaccine injuries mount in the payrolls disability data (what else could it be?) the bond and metals markets are starting to gyrate. Up, down, up, down. Meanwhile, somehow, the S&P 500 continues to power to new highs, completely drunk on easy money and oblivious to risk.

by Dave Fairtex
Chris Martenson’s Peak Prosperity

Payrolls Friday is also Disability Friday. Any improvement in the “bafflingly” high workforce disability? No. In fact, both employed disability and total population disability inched up to a new all-time high. That 12-month MA continues to point higher too. Disability remains in a strong uptrend. Because – Safe & Effective.

Employed 16+: With a Disability (LNU02074597); +64,000 +0.82%
Population 16+: With a Disability (LNU00074597); +55,000 +0.16%

Macron Trounced by Le Pen’s Populists at EuroParl Elections, Immediately Dissolves Parliament for Snap National Election

[Ed. Note: Maybe he just wants to relax and spend more time with his geriatric pedophile husband, Jean Michel Trogneux.]

by Oliver JJ Lane
Breitbart.com

Le Pen’s populist-nationalist party got twice as many votes as the governing group of Emmanuel Macron’s globalist centrists in Sunday’s European Parliament election, prompting Macron to immediately dissolve the national parliament and call fresh French elections in a bid to regain authority for the remainder of his presidential term.

Update 2215 BST: Le Pen speaks

Shortly after President Macron announced he was calling fresh elections to buttress his position, National Rally (RN, Rassemblement National) leader Marine Le Pen took to the stage at her group’s election night party in Paris and declared their readiness to fight the snap election.

California YouTuber Faces 10 Years for Having Too Much Fun with Fireworks

The feds charged Alex Choi with “causing the placement of explosive or incendiary device on an aircraft” after he shot fireworks out of a helicopter into an empty desert.

by Matthew Petti
Reason.com

Shooting fireworks out of a helicopter sounds fun. Shooting fireworks out of a helicopter at a Lamborghini sports car sounds really fun, especially if everyone on the helicopter and everyone in the Lamborghini consents. Alex Choi, a YouTube and Instagram vlogger in California, produced a video of him and his crew doing just that. But he forgot to ask one important group for permission: the federal government.

Earlier this week, the feds indicted Choi for “causing the placement of explosive or incendiary device on an aircraft,” a crime with a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison. The indictment also revealed that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) had revoked the license from Choi’s helicopter pilot in January 2024 for flying less than 500 feet from people, failing to display the helicopter’s registration number, and creating “a hazard to persons or property” without the necessary FAA waivers.

Connecticut Democrats Use Pride Flag to ‘Honor’ State Trooper Killed On Duty

[Ed. Note: I love the way it apparently occured to nobody at all to simply use an American flag.]

from Zero Hedge

Authored by Steve Watson via modernity.news,

Democrats in Wethersfield, Connecticut refused to fly the ‘thin blue line’ flag in remembrance of a state trooper who was killed while on duty, instead insisting that flying an LGBTQ ‘pride’ flag at half staff was enough of an honor.

Yes, really.

Trooper Aaron Pelletier was killed while conducting a routine traffic stop, with one Alex Oyola-Sanchez arrested and charged with second-degree manslaughter.

Police said Oyola-Sanchez was under the influence of several types of drugs when he drove into Pelletier, his squad car and the vehicle he had pulled over.

Beating the Historical Odds

by Deana Chadwell
American Thinker

I was about ten years old when I first learned about Joan of Arc, the 14-year-old peasant girl who, against all odds, led the army of France against the British in the Hundred Years War. I had checked out from our school library a little cloth-bound book (A Candle in the Sky) that told her story, and I must have read it a dozen times, she so fascinated me. Her audacity, her courage, her unwavering faith was both inspiring and horrifying to my young mind. I am now aged well beyond that point, and she still haunts me.

On May 30th of 1431 Joan of Arc was burned at the stake. The English, who were vying for the throne of France, accused her of witchcraft (a conveniently vague charge). They accused her of wearing men’s clothing — a suit of armor, evidently a capital offense. Her main flaw was success at what she set out to do -– to lead her army to vanquish the English, and to crown the Dauphin at Orleans. She was just 19 when she died.

Modernity News

A nineteen year old and two other teenage children have been arrested for leaving scooter skid marks on a LGBTQ flag painted on a road intersection in Spokane, Washington.

Yes, really.

They were all charged with first-degree malicious mischief, a class B felony in the state, after police described the damage as “black scuff marks consistent with scooter wheels.”

Good lord, the horror.
