Florida Postal Employee Charged with Stealing Mail-in Ballot, Other Mail

by Kyle Morris
Breitbart.com

A Florida postal employee has been charged with stealing various types of mail, including a mail-in ballot and political flyers.

Investigators stated they received a tip on 31-year-old Crystal Nicole Myrie after she registered a gift card that had been reported as stolen. Myrie admitted to that theft.

When asked to turn in her postal identification badge, Myrie stated she had to retrieve it from her car. Upon arrival at the vehicle, other mail was located, including undelivered mail and a Miami-Dade County ballot that had been sent out on October 6.

The Washington Times noted that under “Florida law, the person the ballot was intended for would not have been able to cast a ballot, even in person, without showing up with the mail-ballot to be canceled.”

Last Minute Prepping Advice: Be Ready for Literally Anything

by Mac Slavo
SHTF Plan

If there’s only one piece of advice, as a prepper, I could give to those who are just realizing they should be prepared, is in 2020, the truth is, you need to be prepared for literally anything. And I know, that is not that helpful, but let me explain…

With election chaos already promised, a second wave of the scamdemic being invented in front of our eyes, the potential for Earth changes and natural disasters increasing, and food shortages coming down the pike, it seems difficult to prepare for all of it. Add in an economic collapse, the rollout of the New World Order digital currency system, and totalitarian restrictions on movements, and you have a difficult scenario to be ready for. There’s also the possibility of an EMP attack or a coronal mass ejection from our sun that could take down the power grid for months, if not longer. Literally, anything can happen.

Major Gold Bull Alert: Big Money Now Short U.S. Dollar and This is Why That Will Translate Into Massive Gains for Gold

from King World News

On the heels of the US dollar declining and gold and silver surging, big money is now short the US dollar for the first time in months and this is why that will translate into very big gains for the gold market.

Dollar Worries To Create Big Gains For Gold

October 20 (King World News) – Jason Goepfert at SentimenTrader: The smart money has gone net short stocks for the first time in months. They’ve also started to short the U.S. dollar.

The last two times they flirted with longs in the dollar and then flipped to short, the buck proceeded to rally strongly. Commercial hedgers have underlying exposure to the contracts they’re trading, so while it always seems like they’re fighting the primary trend, they’re not. They’re just constantly adjusting their exposure and should never truly be net short any market.

“This is Not a Russian Hoax”: ‘Nonpublic Information’ Debunks Letter from ’50 Former Intel Officials’

from Zero Hedge

Hours before Politico reported the existence of a letter signed by ’50 former senior intelligence officials’ who say the Hunter Biden laptop scandal “has all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation” – providing “no new evidence,” while they remain “deeply suspicious that the Russian government played a significant role in this case,” Tucker Carlson obliterated their (literal) conspiracy theory.

According to the Fox News host, he’s seen ‘nonpublic information that proves it was Hunter’s laptop, adding “No one but Hunter could’ve known about or replicated this information.”

This is not a Russian hoax. We are not speculating.”

‘All These Idiots… Got it Wrong!’ Trump Turns Hard on Fauci

[Ed. Note: Fauci is no idiot. He’s a corrupt sack of crap working for Bill Gates, and the financial conflicts of interest ought to be enough to charge him with treason. See links one, two, three, four, or five.]

Central Banks: Gold’s Greatest Ally

by James Rickards
Daily Reckoning

You’re likely aware of the price action in gold lately. Gold has rallied from $1,591 per ounce on April 1 to $1,907 per ounce as of today. That’s almost a 20% gain in a little over six months, even with selloffs along the way.

Today’s price of $1,907 per ounce is nearly double the low of $1,050 per ounce at the end of the last bear market in December 2015. That’s highly impressive, but it’s only the beginning.

The history of gold bull markets (1971–80 and 1999–2011) shows that the most powerful gains come toward the end of the bull market, not at the beginning.

That means even if you’ve missed out on the gold rally so far, you could still score huge gains as gold trends toward $10,000 per ounce or higher over the next four years.

$14,000 gold is entirely possible by 2026. How?

Troops Coming Home from Afghanistan? Depends on Who You Ask.

by Dr. Ron Paul
Ron Paul Institute

There is a lot to cheer about when it comes to most of President Trump’s foreign policy statements. He regularly tells us he is ending foreign wars and bringing troops home. But do the people who work for him even listen? It seems as soon as the president makes a strong foreign policy statement, one of his appointees grabs a microphone to explain what the president “really meant.”

Earlier this month, President Trump Tweeted that, “we should have the small remaining number of our BRAVE Men and Women serving in Afghanistan home by Christmas!”

It was a very encouraging statement. But almost immediately his statement was “clarified” – actually refuted – by two Administration officials.

First, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Army Gen. Mark Milley, directly contradicted his boss – who also happens to be his Commander-in-Chief – stating, “It’s a conditions-based plan. We’re continuing to monitor those conditions.”

Loan Loss Reserves at Mega Banks Are Far from Where They Need to Be

by Pam Martens and Russ Martens
Wall Street on Parade

It’s time to revisit that scene from the movie, The Big Short, where Steve Carell, playing Mark Baum, is sitting in the audience at the American Securitization Forum and interrupts the speaker on stage who has just stated that he expects subprime losses “will be contained at 5 percent.” Baum loudly asks: “Would you say that it is a possibility or a probability that subprime losses stop at 5 percent?” The speaker says: “I would say that it is a very strong probability, indeed.” Baum sits down but then begins to waive his arm in the air, forming a zero with his fingers. Baum then shouts out: “Zero! Zero! There is a zero percent chance that your subprime losses will stop at 5 percent.”

You can view the scene from the movie below.

That scene came to mind when we graphed the loan loss reserves at U.S. banks through the second quarter of this year, using data from the St. Louis Fed. (See above chart.)

Consider us on record as waving our arm in the air and shouting that there is zero, ZERO! chance that the megabanks in the U.S. are properly reserved for what comes next.

Wisconsin’s Foxconn Boondoggle Looks Worse Than Ever

President Donald Trump and Gov. Scott Walker promised thousands of jobs in return for billions of dollars in subsidies from the state. More than two years later, there’s little to show for it.

[Ed. Note: Did anyone with a functioning brain actually believe that the Chinese where going to switch from paying Chinese labor $2/day to paying American labor $20/hour, plus benefits? How dumb would you have to be to have believed it?]

by Eric Boehm
Reason.com

In June 2018, President Donald Trump and then–Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin broke ground on the outskirts of Milwaukee for what was supposed to be a $10 billion, 20 million-square-foot factory for Taiwanese tech giant Foxconn.

It was going to be “the eighth wonder of the world,” Trump said, proof that he was “reclaiming our country’s proud manufacturing legacy”—even if the project was dependent on $3 billion in subsidies from the state of Wisconsin, one of the largest corporate handouts in American history.

A little more than two years later, the factory that was supposed to produce LCD screens for TVs and smartphones doesn’t exist and “probably never will,” reports The Verge this week in a must-read investigation into the downfall of Wisconsin’s propped-up Foxconn project.

Mr. Trump and Fraudulent Election Balloting

by Walter E. Block
The Daily Bell

Mr. Trump is quite justified in worrying aloud about the possibility of voter fraud what with absentee balloting and reliance on, ugh, the US Postal Service.

The instances of chicanery in this regard are too numerous to deserve specific mention. It is not for nothing that their product is widely known as “snail mail.” This is the group that loses money by the billions, not the millions.

More important than any documentation of past swindles is the issue of what, if anything, can be done about this. Our quick solution is an executive order to cut the Post Office out of the loop, via support from the Supreme Court.

At present, the high court cannot be relied to support the president in any such endeavor. Quite possibly, it would be deadlocked with a four to four decision. But happily, with Amy Coney Barrett seated on the bench, the likelihood of a positive five to four decision is vastly increased.

Three Unstoppable Forces Set to Drive Silver Prices

by Stefan Gleason
Silver Seek

The threat of economically crippling lockdowns, the promise of unending monetary stimulus, and the uncertainty of game-changing political outcomes – this is the “new normal” for investors.

The COVID pandemic won’t be eradicated anytime soon. And even when it finally is, the economic and social costs will continue to be borne for years to come.

In such an environment, all conventional asset classes carry heightened risk. Certain types of assets, though, may now be well positioned to shine.

Among them is silver

With politicians and central bankers desperately trying to paper over real economic losses with artificial stimulus, the outlook for the value of the U.S. dollar looks bleak.

Here Are Three Reasons Why Very Few Experts Are Trusting the National Polls That Show Biden with a Huge Lead Over Trump

by Michael Snyder
The Economic Collapse Blog

With just two weeks to go until Election Day in 2016, some national polls showed that Hillary Clinton had a double digit lead over Donald Trump, but those polls turned out to be dead wrong. Will the national polls that show Joe Biden with a huge lead over Trump in 2020 also turn out to be dead wrong? A few days ago, Biden campaign manager Jen O’Malley Dillon made headlines all over the nation when she told supporters “we are not ahead by double digits” and that they should not believe the “inflated national public polling numbers”. Just like so many others, Jen O’Malley Dillon fully understands that most of the big national polls simply cannot be trusted. They are creating a perception that we are likely to see a landslide victory by Biden on Election Day, and the mood in this country is likely to shift dramatically when that perception does not become a reality.

Trucking, Container Carriers, FedEx, UPS, Other Freight Firms Warn of “Capacity Shortage,” Expect Americans to Keep Splurging Despite Jobs Crisis

by Wolf Richter
Wolf Street

Better produce a big-fat stimulus bill pronto and keep eviction bans and forbearance going, or else these companies will face economic reality.

“The ships are 100% full. The containers are 100% full. You can’t get a container built. You can’t pick up a ship from the spot market. The whole container-shipping cycle is at absolutely full pulse,” said Jeremy Nixon, CEO of Ocean Network Express, the world’s fifth-largest container line, during an International Chamber of Shipping virtual event last week, cited by FreightWaves. October’s ocean container market is “unbelievable,” he said. “We are sold out.”

“Our job now is to keep the network going from an operational standpoint,” he said. “The ports are getting jammed up now. We’re starting to see bottlenecks in the supply chain. That’s another challenge going into this winter.”

Family Restaurant Facing Thousands in Fines for Defying Governor’s Orders and Reopening Found Not Guilty

by Penka Arsova
LaCorte News

A U.S. court has sided with a restaurant in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania that received citations of up to $10,000 for violating the coronavirus restrictions in the state.

The story: The Taste of Sicily restaurant re-opened in May after having been closed for two months under the state’s rules and guidelines aimed at stopping the spread of the virus. The reopening happened during the yellow phase of Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf’s restriction. In the yellow phase, the state eased some of the rules, including lifting stay-at-home orders, but still forced businesses to follow strict guidelines.

Restaurants and bars specifically were only allowed to have guests outdoors and could provide only carry-out services and delivery.

The owners of Taste of Sicily, Michael Mangano and Christine Wartluft defied the orders. They let customers decide whether they wanted to wear a mask or practice social distancing and opened at full capacity. They were then cited for running afoul of the coronavirus restrictions. The owners took the citations to court and pleaded not guilty.
