Can the Fed End Racism?

by Dr. Ron Paul
Ron Paul Institute

House Financial Services Chair Maxine Waters and Senator Elizabeth Warren have introduced the Federal Reserve Racial and Economic Equity Act. This legislation directs the Federal Reserve to eliminate racial disparities in income, employment, wealth, and access to credit.

Eliminating racial disparities in access to credit is code for forcing banks and other financial institutions to approve loans based on the applicants’ race, instead of based on their income and credit history.

More Than Half of All Americans “Plan to Stockpile Food and Other Essentials” for the Chaotic Months Ahead

by Michael Snyder
The Economic Collapse Blog

There was a time when preppers were relentlessly mocked, but nobody is laughing now. Today, most Americans are thinking about stockpiling food, and this massive shift in our national mindset has been sparked by concern about what is going to happen in the months ahead. Many Americans believe that another wave of the coronavirus pandemic is coming, others believe that our ongoing economic depression will get even deeper, and yet others are convinced that the upcoming election could produce widespread violence. Of course there have always been people that have been deeply alarmed about future events, but we have never seen anything quite like this. In fact, a brand new survey has found that over half of all Americans are currently planning “to stockpile food and other essentials”…

Barrett Asked to Hold up Notes She’s Using to Answer Questions. She Holds Up a Blank Notepad.

“That’s impressive.”

[Ed. Note: So we’re all going to pretend that the republican who asked the question didn’t know the page was blank before asking it? Yeah, okay then.]

by Amanda Prestigiacomo
Daily Wire

Supreme Court nominee Judge Amy Coney Barrett held up a blank notepad when Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) asked her to show the public the notes she’s been using to answer the numerous questions spat at her during day two of the confirmation hearings.

“Most of us have multiple notebooks and notes and books, things like that in front of us,” said Sen. Cornyn (video below). “Can you hold up what you’ve been referring to in answering our questions?”

Barrett held up a blank notepad.

“Is there anything on it?” asked Cornyn.

“The letterhead that says United States Senate,” the judge replied.

The Political Circus and the Court

by Richard M. Ebeling
The American Institute for Economic Research

Much of the news and social media chatter following the vice-presidential debate on October 7, 2020 seemed to focus on two events during the 90-minute exchange: Kamala Harris’s unwillingness to say whether she and Joe Biden would or would not try to “pack” the Supreme Court with justices to assure voting majorities for “their side,” and the dark colored fly that attached itself to Mike Pence’s white hair and distracted everyone from anything he tried to say.

Soon after the debate, Democratic Party presidential candidate Joe Biden, hedged his answer about packing the Supreme Court by saying that voters “don’t deserve to know” until after the election. That is, he would inform the American public whether he intends to try to rig the highest court in the land only after he finds out whether the Republican-controlled Senate had or had not approved Amy Coney Barrett, Trump’s nominee for the Court, following his own win for the White House.

Is War with China Becoming Inevitable?

by Pat Buchanan
The Burning Platform

Tensions are rising between the U.S. and China, as the list of ideological, political and economic clashes continues to lengthen. And there is a transparent new reality: China seems in no mood to back down.

“The Indians are seeing 60,000 Chinese soldiers on their northern border,” Secretary of State Michael Pompeo ominously warned on Friday.

He spelled out what he meant to commentator Larry O’Connor:

“The Chinese have now begun to amass huge forces against India in the north. … They absolutely need the United States to be their ally and partner in this fight.”

Dear President Trump, What Happened to Your 8th Wonder of the World?

by Mike ‘Mish’ Shedlock
The Street

Foxconn’s $3 billion investment promise in Wisconsin turns more than a bit sour.

Eighth Wonder of the World

Please note Wisconsin Says Foxconn Doesn’t Qualify for Subsidies.

Wisconsin officials have denied a request by Foxconn Technology Group for the first payments in what had been envisioned as $3 billion in state subsidies for a major technology complex President Trump hailed as the “eighth wonder of the world.”

State officials said in a letter Monday that Foxconn had failed to create enough jobs to receive subsidies in 2019 and that the scope of the project had changed so much that it must draw up a new contract to qualify for future subsidies.

Employment’s Recovery Road Comes to an End

by David Haggith
GoldSeek

Jobs didn’t get much worse in September, but they stopped getting better.

This is a tale of where the recovery road for the US economy ended. Unemployment is the crux of the Covidcrisis economic story. While jobs showed a little improvement in September, a little digging through the numbers reveals the return to full employment has started a turn toward the worse. (Not as bad as “worst,” but “worse” than May-July.)

The two warmest parts of the economy during the September calm that I wrote about in my last article (“A September to Remember”) were the job market and the housing market. I promised to cover those in detail in separate articles because they are more important than the other currents I brought up and more complex to where the headline numbers don’t quite lay out an accurate picture. In this article, I’ll uncover what lies below the surface of the employment numbers.

Amy Coney Barrett’s Nomination Has Put Roe v. Wade Back into the National Spotlight

by Michael Snyder
End of the American Dream

When President Trump nominated Amy Coney Barrett to fill the open seat on the Supreme Court, we immediately witnessed an explosion of speculation about what this could mean for the future of Roe v. Wade. Most pro-life activists cheered Barrett’s nomination because they assumed that she would vote to overturn Roe v. Wade if given the opportunity, and many pro-choice activists warned that America would soon resemble “the Handmaid’s Tale” if Barrett was confirmed. But as President Trump explained during the first presidential debate, nobody actually knows how she would rule on Roe v. Wade, and it is very unlikely that she will give a direct answer to any questions about Roe v. Wade that she is asked during the Senate hearings that are currently taking place.

I truly wish that Barrett would tell us how she would rule, because it is of the utmost importance.

Biden Answers Question on Court Packing: ‘I’m Not a Fan’

by Christian Datoc
DailyCaller.com

Former Vice President Joe Biden said Tuesday he is “not a fan of court packing” after spending weeks refusing to answer reporters’ questions on whether or not he would support adding seats to the Supreme Court if elected president.

“Look what I want them to focus on, as I’ve respectfully suggested, court packing is going on now,” Biden told Local 12’s Kyle Inskeep on Monday evening.

“Never before when an election has already begun and millions of votes already cast, has it — that a supreme court nominee was put forward, had never happened before,” he added in reference to the confirmation process for Judge Amy Coney Barrett. “One of the reasons is the Constitution implies that the only shot the American people get to determine who will be on a lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court or federal courts is when they pick their senator and their president because the president names and the Senate advises and consents.”

Life Within the Matrix is Our Future

by Dr. Paul Craig Roberts
PaulCraigRoberts.org

The question each of us needs to ask ourselves, and one another, is why do we get so much misinformation about Covid from public health authorities, political authorities, and press prostitutes? We get a lot of misinformation from health practioners, because they get the bogus information from health authorities and from researchers associated with Big Pharma. But why do health authorities themselves lie to us?

Take the issue of masks. The masks being worn by the vast majority of the world population, including health care providers, cannot prevent the inhalation and exhalation of bacteria and viruses. If a person wearing one of these masks is sick with a cold, flu, or Covid, the mask can prevent the person from sneezing and coughing on others, countertops, and fresh produce. But the masks cannot prevent the wearer from breathing in and exhaling out Covid, which is airborn and aerosol spread. The only people who should be wearing one of these masks are people who are out in public areas coughing and sneezing among other people. To avoid the spread of the virus, infected people should stay at home.

U.S. Dollar Rallies, Gold & Silver Tumble, but Look at What Else is Happening

from King World News

On the heels of the US dollar rallying and gold and silver tumbling, look at what else is happening.

October 13 (King World News) – Peter Boockvar: The NFIB small business optimism index for September rose 3.8 points m/o/m to 104. (See chart below).

[…] That is the best since February. Along with this though was their Uncertainty Index which rose to match the highest level since March 2017. I’ve talked about the need to rebuild inventories as a key driver of the improvement in manufacturing and within today’s data, Plan to Increase Inventory jumped 5 points to 11 and that matches the highest since this survey began in 1980. (See chart below).

Famine: The Real Second Wave?

by Chris Campbell
Laissez Faire Books

Earlier this year, a paper written by German official Stephan Kohn in the Department of the Interior, the agency responsible for risk assessment and the protection of the population against risks, was leaked to the public.

It is now known in Germany as “The False Alarm Paper.

The 83-page, highly detailed, paper, written in May, came to the incredible conclusion that there was not sufficient evidence for any overwhelming health risks from COVID-19 for the German population.

But, Kohn said, there was, in fact, enough evidence as early as April to suggest that the lockdowns had already caused, and would continue to cause, devastating health and economic damage, the likes of which could’ve been easily avoided with a more targeted approach.

Will the Trump Administration Finally Seize a Golden Opportunity to Punish Clinton Charity Fraudsters?

by Charles Ortel
American Thinker

Four years ago, Donald Trump’s campaign attacked Hillary Clinton for her brazen corruption, deriving personal and political gain from “The Clinton Foundation” in a brutal advertisement as well as on the stump.

The TV spot hits Clinton, the Democratic presidential nominee, on controversies related to her family’s foundation, stating that “staggering amounts of cash poured into the Clinton Foundation from criminals, dictators, countries that hate America” and that “Hillary cut deals for donors.”

At that time, we did not appreciate just how far outside strict laws a network of supposed charities had operated, starting Oct. 23, 1997 as Bill and Hillary Clinton flirted with disaster, dead broke with even more looming expenses to come fighting impeachment and a raft of scandals.
