Libertarianism Unleashed in Latin America and the World with John Rubino

from Kerry Lutz's Financial Survival Network

Kerry and John Rubino discussed a range of topics, including the successful implementation of libertarian policies in Latin American countries, the potential ramifications of the AI bubble on the stock market, Google’s recent AI blunder, the legal implications of Trump’s judgments in New York, and the potential consequences of truckers refusing to go to New York City. They also analyzed the unexpected rise in interest rates and inflation measures, leading to a hawkish stance from the Fed and its impact on the housing market. The speakers expressed hope that the successful implementation of libertarian policies in Latin America would pave the way for libertarian ideas to become politically marketable in the US. They also expressed concerns about the exponential growth of artificial intelligence and its impact on market valuations, highlighting the interconnectedness of the AI bubble with other market bubbles such as housing, commercial real estate, and government bonds. The conversation underscored the difficulty of identifying market bubbles in real-time and the potential for a widespread market downturn if the AI bubble were to burst. Additionally, they discussed the challenges and risks associated with shorting the NASDAQ as a hedge against the AI bubble.

  1. Computers do only what they are programmed to do, an attempt to copy the human brain. AI is not sentient. AI is promoted as a god like figure to whom we must eventually all bow and obey. The final word as to truth and the nature of reality. Also the latest Wall Street pump and dump hustle. Caveat Emptor.

    • You really don’t know what you are talking about. “Computers do only what they are programmed to do”…… You are 100% wrong in your assessment.

Its like you took a programming class in the 90’s and haven’t kept up.

  2. Gary is right…. AI ought to be called “A language processor with a knowledgebase.” … If you fill the knowledgebase with leftist horsesh*t, you’ll get AI that can’t even tell you Hitler was worse than Elon Musk is, and pedophiles aren’t necessarily bad because it’s a very complex subject. It might be artificial, but it sure as f*ck isn’t intelligent.

    • Respectfully, you and Gary are completely wrong on this. It has nothing to do with a knowledgebase. i’ve seen people misrepresent this because they don’t understand it nor understand the ramifications.

AI LLMs combine different vectors to make sense of underlying information. They alone can create new knowledge and are doing so. The fact that you don’t see this is due to your own misunderstanding of what is actually occurring under the hood.

To date there are new compounds and molecular structures that are being developed that weren’t thought of prior to these new devices. There is huge change coming and although the hype was early, you will see massive changes in everything.

  3. From Merriam Webster:
    Artificial: imitation; sham.
With these prefixes AI would seem to be something to be wary of as anything which is contrived or mislabeled. Intelligence has a wide range of meanings and to the individual may be much like pornography; I can’t quite define it but know when I see it. Me, I much prefer time tested wisdom.

  4. Albert Einstein knew a thing or two about knowledge and intelligence. one of my favourite quotes of his goes like this, “knowledge is experience, everything else is only information”. I have travelled the world and I can tell you I trust my experience far more than what I read or hear in the media.

    • ““Experience is the most brutal of teachers but you learn, my God, do you learn” (C.S. Lewis)

  5. C.S. Lewis, as an author of children’s books and professor at Oxford was an exemplar of knowledge and wisdom, well worth listening to.

    • Curiosity – just ask Galileo, and courage – just ask MLKing or Mandela, are hugely undervalued virtues today, and which applied can/will change the world for the better.

  6. Just think for a minute, folks. Did the fed or the WEF create the universe, the sun, moon, stars, air, water, land, plants, animals, humans, etc? or gold or silver? And you would trust bankers or politicians or paper or digits more so than the very source of all that is more so? Give your heads a shake!

  7. PS…I’m no wild-eyed evangelical or idealogue of any stripe, just a 79 year old guy with lots of experience in education, business, world travel, a cancer survivor, etc., and so disappointed with people who “know better” but don’t show up. Thanks for listening.

  8. A.I. is the anachronym for “artificial intelligence.” Please note the word “artificial.”
