Trump Blasts McConnell, Fauci at RNC Donor Event

Former President Trump took aim at Senate GOP Leader Mitch McConnell and Dr. Anthony Fauci, among others, during a Republican National Committee donor gathering over the weekend.

The event took place at the former president Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, Florida, where he made a roughly 50-minute speech. He reportedly went off-script multiple times.

He invoked the names of several Republicans and other officials who served under the Trump administration. Trump specifically called out GOP lawmakers over what he described as a lack of support after the November election, which, he claims, was riddled with fraud that led him to lose to President Joe Biden.

What he said: The president slammed McConnell and Fauci, who currently serves as chief medical advisor to the president, criticized McConnell’s wife, and said he is “disappointed” in the former vice president Mike Pence. He also promised to help the GOP get back their majority in Congress.
