lass=”” >Good evening, I’m still reporting on the Clinton’s .
Hillary Clinton has been caught in yet another lie – this one concerns Secretary of State Colin Powell.
Clinton reportedly told the FBI that Colin Powell had suggested that she use a private email system.
The revelation is one of the first to come out of the FBI notes of Clinton’s final day of FBI testimony when big black government SUV’s whisked her from her home in Northwest DC to an undisclosed location.
Incredibly, Clinton’s testimony was not recorded, and so history must rely on the FBI agent’s notes of the event. Congress had clamored for the notes and finally got them on Tuesday.
Clinton has recounted yet another fanciful tale of Powell giving her advice at a dinner given by former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright in Washington.
However, yesterday, General Powell denied talking to Clinton about the subject. According to a statement put out by his spokesperson:
“General Powell has no recollection of the dinner conversation. He did write former Secretary Clinton an email memo describing his use of his personal AOL email account for unclassified messages and how it vastly improved communications within the State Department.
“At the time there was no equivalent system within the Department. He used a secure State computer on his desk to manage classified information.”
Former State Dept. watchdog Howard Krongard shot down the notion that Clinton’s email practices were in line with her predecessors’. He pointed to a May 25 Inspectors General report that stated Condoleezza Rice did not use personal email for government business.
It said Powell used personal email on a limited basis to connect with people outside the department, and he worked with the State Department to secure the system. The report found Clinton did neither.
I’m still reporting from Washington. Good day.
