Trump Calls on Americans to ‘Ease Tensions and Calm Tempers’

President Trump on Wednesday addressed the nation for the second time in two days, calling on “all Americans” to help “ease tensions and calm tempers,” and condemned violence of “of any kind.”

In a statement to Fox News released by the White House, the president said: “In light of reports of more demonstrations, I urge that there must be NO violence, NO lawbreaking and NO vandalism of any kind.”

“That is not what I stand for and it is not what America stands for. I call on ALL Americans to help ease tensions and calm tempers. Thank You,” the statement said.

An adviser for the president told Fox that Trump is urging for a peaceful transition and calling on “Big Tech companies join with him in this effort.”
