NBC News aired an edited video of a Los Angeles bar owner without disclosing that an outdoor dining area set up next to the establishment was for an NBC production.
The story: The clip of the Los Angeles bar owner Angela Marsden went viral on social media. In the video, Marsden fights back tears as she says that her business, the Pineapple Hill Grill & Saloon, was shut down as part of coronavirus guidelines. She then points to an outdoor dining area that she says has been set up for a movie company, several feet away from her outdoor patio.
“I’m losing everything. Everything I own is being taken away from me and they set up a movie company right next to my outdoor patio, which is right over here,” Marsden says. “We cannot survive, my staff cannot survive … Look at this. Tell me that this is dangerous,” she says, pointing to her own patio, “but right next to me, as a slap in my face, that’s safe. This is safe? Fifteen feet away?”
