First of all, I apologize for my absence the last 36 hours. Yesterday I got a bit too much sun and it’s taken me a day to recover.
Veteran Republican strategist Mary Matalin – who in May switched her party affiliation to Libertarian – initially said on Bloomberg TV on Thursday that Donald Trump has a 100% chance of winning the presidency.

And why? Matalin, who is famously married to her political opposite, James Carville, says that Trump is closing despite Hillary Clinton spending millions of dollars on TV advertising in an attempt to knock him out very early on.
It hasn’t worked.

Matalin then lowers her estimate of a Trump victory to 85%.

Matalin thinks that Trump will benefit from the down-ballot races and their turnout operations.
