I’ve gone from being pretty skeptical of all-things-corporate-and-governmental to being completely flabbergasted at just how transparently self-serving and power/money-hungry they actually are.
Somewhere deep down I suppose I’ve been holding onto a remnant of hope that when push finally came to shove, better people and better policies would emerge. You know, because it’s a global emergency and all that.
But, nope. We got the opposite instead.
By way of example, I first began reporting on Ivermectin as a possible COVID treatment back in April of 2020. I’ve been following it every step of the way ever since.

ATLANTA — Georgia Democrat Senate candidate Raphael Warnock would not respond to a question during the Senate runoff debate Sunday evening about whether he rejects socialism and Marxism.
During the debate, hosted by the Atlanta Press Club at Georgia Public Broadcasting’s studio, Republican candidate Sen. Kelly Loeffler posed the question to Warnock about socialism and Marxism following a number of Warnock’s sermons, speeches, and writings surfacing that embrace facets of the controversial ideologies.
“Rev. Warnock, in your writings and your teachings, you’ve repeatedly praised Marxism and the redistribution of income,” Loeffler said. “Can you here and now for all Georgians renounce socialism and Marxism?”

The media relish negative news. “If it bleeds it leads” still holds, and perhaps it’s never been truer than in the COVID-19 era. Every day the news highlights the spread of the virus and tells the sad stories of some of its victims.
And yet, much of the media does not pay sufficient attention to the good news regarding improved treatments and survival of patients with the coronavirus. In contrast with the international media, the American press has been unrelentingly negative in its COVID coverage, even when there is good news to tell. That negativity is part of what fuels a culture of fear that affects local, state and federal politicians and the decisions they make.
But there is a lot of good news to tell. The case fatality rate from the virus has dropped sharply since March.

Reflections from two economists who have remained aloof from the popular wisdom explain why this cannot last. They do so not with jeremiads warning of doomsday, but with clear, hard logic. Here’s Hoisington’s Lacy Hunt, PhD: “Each additional dollar of debt in 1980 generated a rise in GDP of 60 cents, up from 54 cents in 1940. The 1980’s was the last decade for the productivity of debt to rise. Since then this ratio has dropped sharply, from 42 cents in 1989 to 27 cents in 2019.” In case you missed his point, let me state it another way: It is taking roughly $3.70 of borrowing to create a dollar’s worth of economic growth at the margin, and the ratio is continuing to worsen. How long can that go on?

The small print on this first chart is a bit hard to read, but the story is clear: Government spending as a portion of GDP spiked during previous existential crises like the Civil War and World Wars I and II. But this year it rose to a level that exceeds all but one of those past calamities.
In other words, the US government is spending money like our survival is at stake, only this time the enemy is not a foreign army. It’s a disease and, crucially, our response to it. Given the number of states, cities, and industries that have been bankrupted by the lockdown, 2021 is likely to see an even bigger spike in fiscal stimulus.

After many hours of election fraud hearings in Pennsylvania, Arizona, Michigan and, most recently, Georgia and Nevada, a picture of well organized election and voter fraud has emerged. The election steal was organized crime that would make mobster John Gotti blush. The 2020 Election is a treasonous RICO election and voter fraud case pure and simple. There are hundreds of sworn affidavits from people who witnessed all sorts of fraud in multiple states. Election laws passed by state legislatures were thrown out the window, and the cheating and law breaking this election was off the charts. Now, a video has emerged in the Fulton County, Georgia, vote counting center that catches suitcases of ballots being pulled out from under a big table (put there hours earlier by Democrats) after GOP election watchers were ordered from the counting room. Trump was up by 110,000 votes at that time, but after the secret vote dump, he lost Georgia by 12,670 votes. If this is not election fraud caught on camera, I don’t know what is.

Was Trump’s reelection stolen? That’s a big claim, and it will require clear and convincing evidence to back it up. So far, allegations have been made, but the evidence has not been revealed.
There’s still time, but not much. Either the claims will fade, or a bombshell will explode. It’s still not clear which it will be. It is clear that investors need to be prepared for either outcome.
Let’s begin with the easy stuff. There was fraud in this election. The Trump team has hundreds of sworn affidavits by a variety of poll workers, poll watchers and Postal Service employees, among others, attesting to fraud.
An affidavit is not a casual claim. It’s a sworn statement under oath. Anyone who lies on an affidavit can be charged with fraud or other crimes. So, let’s give credence where it’s due and assume that at least most of these claims are true.

While fabric face coverings certainly pose challenges to facial-recognition technology, U.S. government researchers say that improving software specifically intended to account for obscured features has reduced the error rate and made it easier to identify people whose faces are partially concealed.
So, you’ll need to add sunglasses and a hat to your privacy-enhancing ensemble to confidently thwart the best efforts of the snoops.
“A new study of face recognition technology created after the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic shows that some software developers have made demonstrable progress at recognizing masked faces,” the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) announced this week.

There is now video evidence of poll workers pulling suitcases full of ballots out from under tables after forcing all the observers to leave by claiming they done for the night — under the ruse of a claimed water main break which was later demonstrated to be a flat-out lie — and then running them through the machines.
Not only one camera either — four. Standard security setup; covers the entire room. It’s like watching Joe Thug rob a bank in high-rise color video and then having him try to tell the jury he didn’t do it.
Anyone who doesn’t immediately throw a flag on the election in light of that which we were repeatedly told did not happen and then just witnessed on video is a flat-out 5-alarm psychotic mess.

“It’s a matter of, the thing – we are simpatico on our philosophy of government. Sympatico on how we want to approach these issues that we’re facing. And when we disagree, it’ll be just like so far, it’s been just like when Barack and I did. Follow the Science (Except When the Results are Inconvenient)

During the COVID pandemic, much science is at play, treated either as gospel or hate speech, enough for science professionals to lose their jobs or be suspended from social media platforms if their views are inconvenient to the establishment’s narrative.
The all-knowing, all-caring, anointed guru of all things COVID, Dr Anthony Fauci, has been wrong at least as often as he has been right, with a predictive value of a coin flip. Yet any scientific utterance from him is treated in the media as a scientific law, on par with gravity, as long he speaks convenient science.
The CDC and WHO also have a long string of flip flops regarding the Wuhan flu. Were they following the science when they made their incorrect pronouncements? Or were they sticking a finger in the air, following the political winds?

Politics is like boxing. Prize fighters maneuver and look for weaknesses to attack within a set of rules that are designed to protect them and limit mayhem within the ring. But Donald Trump is not a boxer performing in the ring by a sanctioned set of rules. He is a street fighter who flouts the rules. He showed Republicans they can win by breaking the conventions that set limits on party conflict — limits that protect us by preventing party competition from dissolving into civic turmoil.
After the 2012 elections that gave President Obama a second term in the White House, the Republican National Committee did an autopsy, “The Growth and Opportunity Project,” to examine why Republicans lost to Obama. Again. The party concluded that it needed to do a better job appealing to Hispanics, Blacks, Asians, and gays if it wanted to be competitive in the future. The GOP needed to modernize its program to attract growing segments of the American electorate.
