Facebook has suspended the accounts of two users who violated the platform’s standards by criticizing President Biden’s new protections for transgender people.
An order Biden signed last Wednesday extends protections for trans people, including reinstating their ability to enlist in the military and compete in women’s sports.
Biden has previously expressed support for the 2019 Equality Act that would allow biological males who identify as transgender females to compete in female sports in public schools.
The new Congress is expected to introduce a new version of the bill that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi indicated she will support.
