President-elect Joe Biden’s transition team reportedly disabled the chat option for reporters during recent Zoom briefings, where reporters have been pushing for more chances to ask questions.
“The Biden transition team appears to have disabled the public chat function on its transition zoom calls, a place where I and others had been routinely complaining to them to take more questions,” tweeted reporter Sam Stein.
[…] During a Dec. 18 Zoom briefing, reporters from several big publications including the Associated Press and the Daily Beast complained in the chat about Biden’s team taking questions only from a handful of reporters from CNN, The New York Times, The Washington Post, PBS, and Politico.
“Hey guys, there tons of folks looking to ask questions and since this is being done once a week, could we PLEASE go longer or at least hold more frequent briefings,” wrote The Daily Beast’s Sam Stein.
