White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows dropped a press briefing with reporters Monday after one complained when he removed his mask to speak.
CNN Capitol Hill reporter Kristin Wilson stopped Meadows for comment outside the confirmation room in the U.S. Senate Monday where Judge Amy Coney Barrett’s first confirmation hearing on her nomination to the Supreme Court was underway.
Meadows stopped, and before he started answering questions moved back to maintain adequate physical distance.
“Let me do this, let me pull this away,” said Meadows, referring to the microphone.
