Education, political, and other Chicago leaders this weekend called on the Illinois State Board of Education to temporarily stop teaching history and introduce a new curriculum.
The story: The Chicago leaders expressed their grievances with the current history curriculum at a news conference at the Robert Crown Center, in Evanston on Sunday, according to a news release from State Rep. LaShawn K. Ford’s (D) office, WMAQ-TV reported. They cited a lack of female and LBGTQ- community representations and argued the current curriculum shaped a racist society.
