Cut through all the noise from the Trump-hating media, and the Iran-baiting NeoCons: Trump sent a not so subtle message by killing Iranian commander Gen. Qassem Soleimani – we can crush you.
The Ayatollah Ali Khamenei sent a far more subtle message with his retaliatory missile strikes – Let’s make a deal. In both cases, actions speak louder than words.
Well, yes. Further, Iran made a monstrous mistake shooting down the Ukranian 737. It was almost-certainly the sort of “fog of war” mistake that happens all the time once you start blazing away too — that is, not the act of one of their generals or even a brigade commander, but rather that of a 17 year old, possibly a draftee, sitting in a radar trailer who knows things just got hot (because Iran just fired from its own territory) and when he sees the bogie pop up, and it’s out-of-scope with what he’s been told to expect, he assumes it’s an American warplane coming to kill him and shoots it.
