Boom Bust at BRICS 2016

from Boom Bust

The British pound sterling took another tumble, hitting a six-year low. Edward Harrison has the details. Then, Ameera David reports from Goa, India where the BRICS 2016 summit just wrapped up with a show of unity between the five member nations and the signing of new business deals between India and Russia. Continuing with Boom Bust’s BRICS coverage, Ameera then speaks with K.V. Kamath, chairman of the BRICS New Development Bank.

After the break, Bianca Facchinei takes a look at the latest tech headlines, including the supposed Apple car, Tesla’s “Autopilot” feature, and a sweating robot. Shaktikanta Das, secretary of the Indian Department of Economic Affairs, then joins Ameera to give his take on whether India should push to include the Rupee in the IMF’s SDR basket. And finally, in The Big Deal, Edward has the first installment of his economics break down, explaining the New Keynesian viewpoint.
