Riots in Charlotte Over Shooting: N.C. Governor Declares State of Emergency; Why So Many Bad Cops?

Today, in Charlotte North Carolina, riots are underway for the second day. Governor Pat McCrory declared a State of Emergency and deployed the National Guard to ‘assist local law enforcement’.

The riots began when a peaceful protest over the death of a black man shot by a police officer suddenly turned ugly.

Authorities in North Carolina have declared a state of emergency and called in the National Guard after protests over a deadly police shooting turned violent for a second night.

Pat McCrory, governor of the southern state, made the announcement late on Wednesday as groups of demonstrators smashed windows and started fires in Charlotte, the state’s largest city.
