Toxic vapors have been wafting into an Oakland, California charter school over the past decade. There’s no way to tell how many students and faculty were exposed, or to what levels. Trichloroethylene, or TCE, is a solvent used in degreasing mechanical parts. It is also a known carcinogen and toxin linked to developmental and neurological problems.
