Youth unemployment is on course to rise for the first time in three years in 2016 as commodity exporters grapple with recession and advanced economies stagnate, according to the United Nations.

The report, led by the International Labour Organisation (ILO), predicts that the number of unemployed people aged between 15 and 24 years-old will rise by half a million to 71m this year.

This represents the first increase in three years, the UN agency said.
