California Law to Criminalize Hidden Video of Healthcare Providers

from RT America

lass=”” >California is on the verge of passing bill 1671, which would make it a crime for journalists to use hidden video to expose healthcare providers. So if a journalist wants to do a story on how crappy a healthcare provider is, they’ll face a $2500 fine if they get caught using hidden video. And if they do it again, they could go to prison for up to a year. They will also be potentially subjected to civil lawsuits. The bill was born out of the 2015 mess over the video that was secretly shot of Planned Parenthood employees talking about fetal tissue sales.
