Heavyweight Champ George Foreman Says Bonds Are a Knockout

from Kitco NEWS

lass=”” >What type of investments does a two-time heavyweight champion turned businessman and investor like right now? “I like bonds…especially government bonds,” George Foreman, also an Olympic gold medalist, told Kitco News at Freedom Fest in Las Vegas. “I like to stay close to the government because if they fall, we all go together, but if they stand, I’m up a little bit anyway,” he explained. The bond market has garnered investor attention with the 10-year U.S. Treasury note recently posting its biggest weekly increase since June when Britain voted to leave Europe. However, Foreman warned that there is “no protection” in the marketplace. “Get in it, try to invest in something, there is no protection though,” he said. “If you’re looking for protection, that’s like saying you want to be heavyweight champ of the world without having to fight Muhammad Ali.”
