NBC News was roundly mocked on social media after publishing a piece critical of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ coronavirus vaccination plan.
The piece was published on NBC News’ website on Thursday but drew criticism on social media after the network promoted it on Twitter over the weekend.
Headlined “Florida governor accused of playing politics with Covid vaccine,” the article slams DeSantis, claiming his response to the pandemic has been “slow” and his vaccination plan “marked by chaos.”
NBC News senior writer Corky Siemaszko, who penned the piece, highlighted in the very first sentence that according to critics the Florida governor has “been quick to recognize the political gold in those precious doses.”
