Hundreds of Writers and Agents Demand the Publishing Industry Ban Books by Trump Admin

Hundreds of writers, editors, and publishing agents have signed an open letter demanding President Trump be denied publication of any book or memoir after he leaves office, and that Trump officials be denied book deals as well.

The letter, dubbed “No Book Deals for Traitors,” was signed last week by over 250 authors, editors, and agents and calls on the industry to deny Trump or any Trump administration official a possible book deal after the leave office on Wednesday, according to the Los Angeles Times.

“As members of the writing and publishing community of the United States, we affirm that participation in the administration of Donald Trump must be considered a uniquely mitigating criterion for publishing houses when considering book deals,” wrote novelist Barry Lyga, who organized the letter, the Independent reported.
