House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) reportedly skipped a question from a CNN reporter about her support of the latest coronavirus relief package, which is smaller than the Trump administration’s proposal she rejected earlier this year.
Why it matters? In October, ahead of the presidential election, Pelosi dismissed a boosted offer from the White House during negotiations about the COVID-19 stimulus bill. It included a $1.8 trillion, nearly double the original offer, with $400 unemployed insurance per week, $1,200 stimulus checks for adults and $1,000 per child, as well as money for education, health, and childcare among other things.
