Conservative attorney Sidney Powell was temporarily suspended on Twitter Sunday, shortly after the Trump campaign cut ties with her after making a series of unfounded allegations about a mass election fraud.
“Sidney Powell is practicing law on her own. She is not a member of the Trump legal team. She is also not a lawyer for the president in his personal capacity,” Trump attorneys Rudy Giuliani and Jenna Ellis said in a statement on Sunday.
The announcement came after Powell said a series of false statements last week, including that votes for Trump in Georgia were flipped to favor Joe Biden and that Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp, a Republican, and the state’s Republican secretary of state conspired to undermine Trump’s reelection chances.
“Georgia’s probably going to be the first state I’m going to blow up and Mr Kemp and the secretary of state need to go with it,” she said on Saturday, threatening to file a “biblical” lawsuit against the state.
