A new poll from this week showed that a significant portion of Democratic voters was “happy” or “excited” that President Trump contracted the coronavirus.
The poll from Morning Consult and Politico, released on Friday, included more than 900 American registered voters. It found that 40% of the Democratic respondents said they were “somewhat” or “very” “happy” when they discovered that the president has tested positive for COVID-19. 31% of Democrats said they were “somewhat” or “very” “excited” to hear about President Trump’s COVID-19 diagnosis and 41% of Democratic respondents responded that they were “indifferent” to the news.
There were also 61% of Democrats who said they were “not too concerned” or “not concerned at all” about the president’s well-being. 56 % of them were either “not too concerned” or “not concerned at all” about Melania Trump’s health status, who also tested positive for the virus.
