President Trump slammed Joe Biden and Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), shortly after the presumptive Democratic presidential candidate announced she was joining him on the Democratic ticket.
The president criticized Harris during a White House briefing on Tuesday, saying the California Democrat was his “number one draft pick” to be Biden’s vice-presidential pick. “I like vice president Mike Pence much better,” Trump added, calling him a “fantastic” vice president.
“She was my number one draft pick. I was a little surprised he picked her,” he said. President Trump added that she was “very nasty” throughout the confirmation process of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh and that he “won’t forget that soon.”
“I thought it was terrible for her and I thought it was terrible for our nation … I thought she was the meanest, the most horrible, most disrespectful of anybody in the U.S. Senate. She is also known, from what I understand, as being just about the most liberal person in the U.S. Senate.”
