The student government at Pennsylvania State University said it is instating a “mandatory bias workshop” for all candidates in order to assess members for “internal biases.”

The University Park Undergraduate Association (UPUA) said in a statement on Instagram that it has “failed to effectively represent, advocate on the behalf of, and welcome BIPOC [black, indigenous people of color]” and will therefore “institutionalize a mandatory bias workshop as part of the candidate registration process” before every election.
