New Filings Suggest Medical Examiner Thought George Floyd Had ‘Fatal Level’ of Fentanyl in System

New court filings in the case against the law enforcement officers accused of killing George Floyd indicate that one medical examiner believed Floyd had potentially fatal concentration of fentanyl in his blood.

The story: Attorneys for Tou Thao, the former Minneapolis police officer who stopped bystanders from intervening in Floyd’s highly publicized arrest, on Monday asked for the release of all and full autopsy reports. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner, the Armed Forces Medical Examiner, and the private medical examiners hired by Floyd’s family have all conducted separate autopsies.
