Former White House advisor Stephen Bannon and three others were arrested Thursday for allegedly defrauding donors who gave money to an online campaign aimed at helping build a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.
The story: Bannon, the former executive chairman of Breitbart News who served as President Trump’s chief strategist, Brian Kolfage, who started the campaign, Andrew Badolato, and Timothy Shea were indicted and arrested for taking money donated to the “We Build the Wall” fundraising campaign that raised over $25 million, the Department of Justice said in a press release.
