Violent protests continued for the second day in a row in Wisconsin after a police officer critically shot a black man in the city of Kenosha on Sunday.
The shooting triggered a wave of riots and clashes between police and protesters and Gov. Tony Evers has requested the help of the National Guard to aid local police in restoring order.
[…] Despite the evidently violent nature of the protest, CNN downplayed the riots during a live broadcast by removing the word “violent” from the chyron.
“8PM CURFEW ORDERED AFTER VIOLENT PROTESTS OVER POLICE SHOOTING OF UNARMED BLACK MAN IN WISCONSIN,” read CNN’s first chyron.
