A San Francisco museum curator has been forced to resign after museum employees started a petition accusing him of racist and white supremacist beliefs.
The petition
Gary Garrels, senior curator of painting and sculpture at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA), resigned last week. Employees accused him of expressing “toxic white supremacist beliefs” after he concluded a presentation on how the museum can diversify its works by saying, “don’t worry, we will definitely still continue to collect white artists.”
