The breathless media says that Trump’s asylum acceptance rate at the southern border is just 1%.
Of course this belies several facts that nobody wants to talk about, starting with the fact that a huge percentage of those appearing or being caught at our southern border claim asylum knowing they have no factual basis for it — they are simply economic migrants.
But why are they economic migrants?
Not because they are going to come here and work.
That’s not, by the way, a matter of intent.
