Gold gets a boost Thursday after weak data is released in the U.S. even if the metal was mostly on the defensive all week. All eyes have turned to Friday’s nonfarm payrolls report, which many pundits suggest will be a key factor in swaying the Fed to raise rates if it comes out strong. According to Kitco’s Global Trading Director Peter Hug, however, he doesn’t think the central bank should consider hiking rates this year. ‘I’m still very reticent on the fact that the Fed is even going to move this year,’ he told Kitco News Thursday afternoon.
