High in the Teton mountains, Jackson Hole, Wyoming, is about as remote a place as you can find in the developed world.

Normally a retreat for skiers and climbers, late every summer it is also where the Kansas Federal Reserve hosts the most exclusive meeting of central bankers on the financial calendar.

The men and women who control the global monetary system get together for three days to debate the challenges facing the world economy – and how they might use monetary policy to fix it.

This year’s title is “Designing Resilient Monetary Policy Frameworks for the Future”, which could mean almost anything.
