A bill to designate the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organizations is being held up by – three key GOP lawmakers.
According to the Clarion Project, only 80 members of Congress currently support the Muslim Brotherhood Terrorist Designation Act.
According to Clarion, chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Bob Corker (R-TN) has not even held hearings on the bill. Corker is one of the half-dozen finalists whom Donald Trump is vetting as his Vice-Presidential running mate.
On the House side, neither Speaker Paul Ryan, nor House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy have supported a vote on the measure.

According to terrorism expert, Patrick Pool:
“There really is no good reason why GOP leadership should continue blocking [this] …. “We should not be giving them aid and refuge while our allies actively fight them.”
“Even if the act does not pass, this is a unique opportunity to find out which members of Congress pay attention to this issue, and where they stand on the Muslim Brotherhood and its U.S.-based affiliates.
“The legislation outlines the evidence linking the Brotherhood and Hamas to the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) and the North American Islamic Trust (NAIT).”
