Businesses Say ‘Bold Decisions’ Needed to Speed Growth After Brexit Vote

UK growth slowed ahead of the EU referendum, according to a closely-watched survey that urged the Government to “get on” with making decisions that will keep the country open for business after Brexit.

The British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) described growth as “sub-par” ahead of the referendum, as the dominant services sector saw a decline in domestic and overseas sales, while manufacturing activity remained subdued.

Its survey of more than 8,000 businesses in the month before the vote showed “several key indicators remained static, or at a low ebb”.
