Pennsylvania DoT Makes $157M Selling Your Driver Records

lass=”” >A local NBC affiliate in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, conducted an investigation and has learned that the Pennsylvania DOT has made more than $157 million over the past 5-6 years by selling citizens’ driver records to more than 32,000 companies, with very little control over how that information is used. Investigators also learned of at least one company who was reselling that information, which the DOT had said was only sold to companies who signed a contract stating the information would only be used for legal reasons.
