Sofia Prins and Gary Balhorn were about to signapplications for free coverage under Washington State’s Medicaid program — recently expanded under ObamaCare — when Sofia began reading the fine print: If you’re over age 55, the state of Washington will bill your estate for your health expenses when you die.
So much for “free.”
Meh.
This, by the way, is not new. Medicaid has always had a provision in it that if you consumed health services in certain areas after age 55 your estate would be attached if and when you die to pay it back.
Well, yes, it will be.
