New SunTrust survey shows bosses are more concerned about keeping good workers

Small and medium-sized business owners are increasingly worried about finding new employees — and keeping the ones they have.
That’s good news for workers, who may finally get a bigger raise when they switch jobs, or just threaten to. And the labor market could finally deliver a key ingredient that the Federal Reserve says has been missing from this economic recovery.
First, the upbeat news for employers: More than half of those questioned for SunTrust Banks Inc.’s annual Business Pulse Survey said they felt the current economic outlook was strong, and perceptions of their local economies have “improved significantly.”
